BOA
The trio BOA was formed in 2006. BOA consists of the profiled contemporary music performers Tora Augestad (voice), Rolf Borch (clarinet) and Tanja Orning (cello). During Ultima 2006, BOA performed a concert with music from Ny Musikk Composer Group to great acclaim. The trio also performed at UNM (Young Nordic Music) on Iceland in august 2007.
The latest BOA project “MAX 3.30 (pop goes avantgarde – avantgarde goes pop)” aims to explore where the pop music format and the avantgarde music intersect. Composers from both genres will write “songs” of a maximum length of 3 minutes and 30 seconds for the trio.
At the Ultima opening, five songs will be performed. These are written by Jenny Hval, Hanne Hukkelberg, Susanne Sundfør, Morten Qvenild and Ole Henrik Moe jr. The project will later be expanded with compositions by Jarle Bernhoft, Bugge Wesseltoft, Lene Grenager, Christian Wallumrød, Sven Lyder Kahrs, Trygve Seim, Jon Øyvind Ness, Eivind Buene, Øyvind Torvund and Evan Gardener, and will be performed in Berlin and on various festivals.
