Welcome to Ultima Festival 2020!
From 10–19 September we’ll be staging more than 40 concerts, performances, installations, films and talks, including many world premieres, at 20 different venues around Oslo. In addition we’re launching a podcast series featuring artist portraits and conversations, which will be released before, during and after the festival.
Ever since the corona epidemic sent society into lockdown in March, we have continuously been adjusting the festival’s programme, with an eye on the situation and the way it has unfolded. Some events have been postponed until next year, others are adapted or altered according to the circumstances. Our planning has been focused on presenting as physical a programme as possible, but we have also added some digital options to the mix.
This year’s programme mainly consists of the latest output from the Norwegian contemporary music scene, plus a few individual international projects. Massive thanks to all our colleagues, venues, institutions and other collaborators, whose collective efforts have meant that we can actually have a festival this year at all.
We are hugely grateful for everybody’s desire and sheer determination to find ways and new solutions to make this year’s events happen, even when it involved adapting and making changes to the original concepts.
We’ll be taking care of the audience experience with all the necessary measures to prevent the spread of infection – and we look forward to seeing you!
Have a great festival.
