An exhibition and a library based around this year’s Arne Nordheim Composer Award, which will be presented on 21.9 during the concert Dusk Meditations I. The exhibition assembles a ‘living archive’ around the work of prizewinning composer Therese Birkelund Ulvo, and Nordheim’s work, placing their music in a wider context.

Understanding music involves more than simply listening to it. As this exhibition shows, many other elements feed into music: instruments, movements, words, spaces and ideas. As well as scores, films and texts, the exhibition includes examples of other music, texts, poetry, art and objects which have inspired or are part of the exhibited works. A rare opportunity to experience how music can connect with other music and with the world around it.
