Bergen’s BIT20 Ensemble host a creative workshop for children and people of all ages. At this session you can have fun discovering the sounds around you and trying out the ensemble’s BITWaves app for recording and composition.

Participants will receive introductory tips on how to record sounds around them using the app. They will then head off in groups or pairs around the library on a ‘sound hunt’ to gather interesting sounds which can be used to make a piece of music. Afterwards you’ll put the pieces together in BITWaves to create a composition. These will be played in a mini-concert for library users.

The workshop is led by BIT20’s artistic director Trond Madsen and educator Håkon Skjæret. You can find out more about the BITWaves app here. Participants can use their own iPhones, or iPads supplied.

NB. The workshop is free although places must be prebooked. The registration link can be found here.
