Caterina Barbieri: Spirit Exit (2022)
From her base in Milan, Italy, synth composer Caterina Barbieri has created music that travels beyond specific time and place.
Barbieri’s minimalist, uncluttered music is made with a modular synth setup that she refers to as a mechanical fortune teller or time machine. Her electronic sounds have previously appeared on the labels Editions Mego and Important Records.
Her latest project, Spirit Exit, is a new album composed and recorded in her home studio during lockdown. In this period she took inspiration from female philosophers, mystics and poets.
Spirit Exit in a staged performance specifically created for this new tour promises an otherworldly, deeply moving and immersive experience.
