The soundscapes of HEYR transport you directly to various politically charged places around the world. Anders Vinjar’s long term field recording project captures the everyday ambience of controversial locations that frequently appear on the news or in social media feeds. His work aims to allow listeners to hear the ordinary sounds of people, voices and daily life.

Vinjar has visited sites such as Utøya, Jerusalem, Kabul, Auschwitz, George Floyd Square in Minneapolis and the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. The sonic portraits of these places, recorded with ambisonic microphones, open up poetic spaces for contemplation and immersion in the 3D acoustic landscape and videos of HEYR.
