Nothing Personal is the Oslo-based trio of Dorothea Økland, Thea Emilie Wang and Solveig Wang. They describe their methods as ‘curated improvisation’, combining elements from jazz, experimental pop, R&B and electroacoustic music.
Nothing Personal are passionate about gadgets and vintage electronics and theyprove deep into the old circuit boards to find the magic within. I loved how theyusually manage to transform keyboards and synths found at flea markets into musical gold. Great to experience the same glow this evening, after Elina Mikkalsen’s hypnotic set!
What a crowd at Jakob tonight!! It was exhilarating to be part of this long and exciting evening. Nala Sinephro was a real discovery. Friends had told me about her debut album Space 1.8, so I was expecting a far out mix of folk, jazz and more. But the concert really blew me away with a spacey, deeply felt ambient vibe!
