Ultima x Masahat: Club night

We are teaming up with Blå and the Masahat festival for Arab art and culture and invite you to a club night and closing event with DJ Plead and Deena Abdelwahed.

DJ Plead, a Melbourne/Naarm producer based in Berlin, takes the stage next, drawing on his Lebanese background, to create percussive club music that blends the rhythms, scales and timbres of Lebanese pop and traditional music with other contemporary dance styles. Plead’s contribution responds to Deathprod and sets the stage for the final act. 

With her upbeat approach, Tunisian DJ/producer Deena Abdelwahed reclaims the diverse elements of Arabic music, drawing inspiration from electronic dance music influenced by club and avant-garde experimental scenes. Her dynamic performance, concluding in a b2b with long-time friend and collaborator Plead, urges the audience to the dancefloor. Her set is guaranteed to leave your ears tingling with curiosity about parallel musical worlds and the possibilities of connecting them.
